Things have been pretty quiet lately. With the spring weather so crazy there isn’t a lot to be done. The tree is down out back, but we can’t do anything with it yet. The forest fire rating has been high, or it has been too cold to saw up the big pieces, or even to chip the smaller pieces.
As you will see in the post Guest Room Update we have created a workspace for our guests. It is a simple dresser with a chair. The dresser is one I’ve had for many years. The chair we found at a flea market. I needed one tall enough to make using a keyboard comfortable.
The power supply is one I purchased when I started listing the room on Airbnb. It is a little cube shaped thing with two USB ports built in. Guests can plug in a laptop or tablet, and charge a phone.
I continue to try to perfect my sourdough breads. I’m struggling mightily with the starters. I just can’t keep the feeding schedule right. I really want to be able to create breads from homemade sourdough starters. I also want to be able to gift others, or even sell, sourdough starters. But so far it has been a flop.
OH! I am now a Thrive Life Consultant. Thrive Life is a company that specializes in simple, clean, freeze dried, and dehydrated foods. They are commercially processed and good for up to 25 years if unopened.
While I do home can, freeze, and dehydrate a lot of my own foods, I use Thrive Life to fill in gaps, and provide for a much longer storage life than I can get with my at-home equipment.
The April Specials are available now. There are some awesome items this time, and many like the cheese sell out quickly. Use the link, create a free account, and look around. I can help you out with a little behind-the-scenes trick to lower the cost a little more. Just let me know.
Wayne is healing wonderfully from his surgery. He is just about finished with physical therapy. One more trip to the surgeon for a follow-up, then an appointment with his work doctor to make sure he is good for going back to work. That, however, may not be done until the end of the month.
Last week we had a day of almost 80*F. Then in the 30’s at night. Today is supposed to top out at 50*. Spring is a time of change, I get that. I am so tired of the cold. I hate the cold. The cold penetrates my bones, and makes me hurt all over. While spring is officially here, it feels more like early winter to me.
