Back in February I shared with you that I was working on a non-traditional path to becoming a minister. Well, I’ve completed the training.
Now I am authorized to preform the sacraments, and officiate more than just weddings. As a Licensed Minister with the Christian Leaders Alliance, I am trained for most ministry roles. This status encompasses all the preparation of the Christian Wedding Officiant and the Ministry Officiant:
Weddings
Baptisms and Dedications
Funerals
The Lord’s Supper
Professions of Faith
Confessions of Sin
Forgiveness Prayers and Ceremonies
Anointing Ceremonies
Care Facilities Visits
Spiritual Warfare
Life Coaching
Master of Ceremony Events
So, what I need to do now is revise my Weddings By Robin Facebook page and make it something all inclusive. Or, chuck it altogether and start a different page. Geeze I hate to do that. I have several pages already that I have to keep current.
Of course, my current major denomination church won’t recognize my authority. It isn’t one of the “approved” programs. I can understand why. While I did have courses to complete, and quizzes to take, it isn’t the same as a traditional education.
There used to be a school near here called the National Institute of Technology (I think). It was a non-credentialed school. You couldn’t transfer to a four year college, you had to start over.
I’m not trying to say I could take on a 100 congregant church today. I can, however, offer legitimate help to those without a home church looking for a minister to perform one of the services listed above.
