July update
As we prepare to say good-bye to July, let me fill you in on what has been happening.
We welcomed Bob to our family! Bob is Betty’s new companion. We adopted him from the Olive Branch Animal Rescue, in Wetzel County. They listed him as a Boxer-mix, but I think they are wrong. I think he is just mutt. Mutts are fine with us.
On July 7 I began the United Methodist Church Basic Lay Servant Ministries class. This is the required class that allows the lay person to serve the church in a greater capacity and is the first step in establishing a closer relationship with the Lord. The last class is Thursday, August 4.
I have spent an embarassing amount of time trying to perfect my sourdough baking skills. We are talking months of trial and error. For many people it’s an easy thing. Well, I finally got two boules of sourdough successfully made this month. I also tried a pizza crust. I still need work on it.
I have a freezer that is not located in the house. That makes it a challenge to keep an eye on it. Imagine my surprize when I checked on it and found some things starting to thaw. That had the potential to be an expensive fail!
Apparently the Ridgeview News out of Calhoun County has picked up my column from Two-Lane Rennaisance. I am flattered. I never thought it was good enough for that. It would be nice if they contacted me about it. But, I suspect it is more about Lisa’s Two-Lane Rennaisance than me. Lisa is a multi-talented, smart, and strong woman business owner. You should check her out.
The husband’s 40th high school class reunion is on the 30th. He is six months older than me and that throws him into an earlier graduating class. We went to different schools, in different counties, so I won’t know anyone there.
What did you get done, or what challenges did you have in July?
