We migrated away from DirecTV and went back to Sling. One of the things I forgot about Sling is the lack of local television. I have an over the air antenna, a nice one actually. I found all the old satellite coax cable used it to get the antennae signal to the living room.
The over-the-air attic antenna is working perfectly. We receive the important local channels, plus the one carrying Wheel-of-Fortune and Jeopardy. The video tripod allows me to adjust the height and direction easily. It is a creative solution to an old home problem.
With the SlingTV package we chose, we are saving around $50 per month and getting all the channels we normally watch. The packages they offer are oddly grouped, in my opinion. However, if you choose the orange/blue package you can get all they offer for $55 per month.
DirecTV says their introductory streaming package starts - starts - at $74.99 per month, plus tax. I’d been with them since 1999 in some form. I started with the actual satellite dish on the house and moved to streaming. I promise you I was NOT paying just $74.99 per month.
Anyway, the only thing we watch on the local channel is the news and weather in the morning, and he watches Wheel, and Jeopardy weeknights.
